Hi everyone,
It was in the 60’s here yesterday, which is pretty unusual for Maine in December, I’m not complaining…but eventually we do like it to get a bit chilly and have some snow around. Anyways…to the real business of this post:
December’s sample is my favorite - the UHU Twist & Glue. We’re sending out little bottles of this magical stuff - perfect for all kinds of crafts and household fix-it jobs too. Along with the UHU, we’re sending 5 small glass beads and magnets - for a project that comes from Gluer Halle. It’s super easy and makes a great stocking stuffer.
Rose and I tested the project out (rare I know!) and here are our magnets. We made UHU letters and owls - did you know UHU is owl in German and an owl is the Glue’s mascot? Also, I’m a big fan of the wise nocturnal birds…so it was a perfect fit. The glass reflected the flash a bit, but I think you get the idea.
Materials:
Clear Glass beads (one side flat - like those used for vase/flower decorations
Magnetic tape or small magnets
Small pictures/images/words/art on paper
UHU Twist and Glue
Xacto/cutting tool
Directions:
Choose your images/paper artwork - small images that are visible through the bead work best.
Put a small amount of Twist and Glue (use the narrow applicator) on the flat side of the bead and place on top of the desired image.
Let thoroughly dry (I left mine overnight, Halle will recommends up to 24 hours)
Use a blade/Xacto knife to trim around the bead closely so there are no paper edges outside the bead’s diameter.
Use a small amount of Twist and Glue (if not self-stick) to adhere the magnet to the back of the paper. Let dry thoroughly.
You’re done!
Want some? It’s as easy as this project is: You must be an active blogger in the US or Canada. You must promise to post an honest review (good, bad or indifferent) of the UHU and send us a link via email or comment on this blog post hopefully within a month. Also - when you post your review, please let the world know we sent the UHU for free so we’re all in-line with the new federal guidelines. We only have a limited number of samples - so first-come, first served. Email Rose and be sure to include your blog url and mailing address in your message. And….if you’ve gotten a previous sample and haven’t yet posted your review get it up there so we can see what you’ve made.
We’ll be showcasing some more magnet projects from our Gluers over the next few weeks so stay tuned. Happy Friday and request away!
